Wadena woman hit by minivan, critically hurt, while walking down middle of Highway 10 at 3 a.m.

A Wadena woman was critically injured early Saturday morning after being hit by a minivan while she was walking in the middle of Highway 10.


Tiffany J. Walker, 25, of Wadena was struck about 3 a.m. while walking in the westbound lane of Highway 10, at milepost marker 93 in Wadena County.

She was transported by Tri County Ambulance to Tri County Hospital in Wadena and then airlifted to St. Cloud, according to the State Patrol.

She was struck by a 2005 Dodge Caravan driven by Justin L. Harwell, 19, of St. Paul, who suffered no apparent injuries.

A passenger in the minivan, Richard T. Rucker, 24, of St. Paul, also suffered no apparent injuries, according to the State Patrol.

The accident occurred on dry blacktop on undivided roadway.

The State Patrol was assisted on scene by the Wadena County Sheriff's Department and Wadena Police Department.
