WCMCA receives FEMA funding for emergency assistance

ELBOW LAKE, Minn. -- West Central Minnesota Communities Action has recently received notification that the National Board for the FEMA Emergency Food and Shelter Program has made its FY2012 funding recommendations. The Board has recommended that West Central Minnesota Communities Action receive funding to serve Grant, Pope, Traverse, and Stevens Counties. These funds may be used for emergency assistance with shelter, utility or food costs for households in these counties.

The local board will convene on Monday, Jan. 7, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at the West Central Minnesota Community Action Board Room in Elbow Lake, MN to determine the distribution of funds. Non-profit 501-C3 agencies wishing to apply for these funds may call the West Central Office at 218-685-4486 to receive an application or go to the agency web site which is www.wcmca.org and download the forms to use. The application forms must be in the office at West Central by twelve noon on Friday, January 4, 2013 to be considered for funding. Any applications received after that time will not be able to be considered.
