West Central School of Agriculture alumni will have a chance to recall and celebrate their high school experiences at the All-School Reunion on Saturday, July 16. The reunion is an annual event that takes place on the University of Minnesota, Morris campus, the former home of the WCSA.
The day will begin with registration and brunch in the Student Center, after which WCSA alumni will have the chance to take a bus tour of the West Central Research and Outreach Center, the wind turbines, and the biomass facility. Later in the day, after a brief annual meeting, there will be a special viewing of the Morris campus documentary, Promise of the Prairie: Education in Three Acts. A banquet in Oyate Hall in the Student Center will complete the day's activities.
This year, four WCSA classes celebrate milestones: the Class of 1946's 65th reunion; the Class of 1951's 60th reunion; the Class of 1956's 55th reunion; and the Class of 1961's 50th reunion. Special breakout rooms will be available for classes to gather.
The All-School Reunion is a well-loved tradition that provides great opportunities to catch up with classmates, share memories, rediscover lost friends, and enjoy the company of fellow alumni.
Carla Riley, director of alumni relations and annual giving, always looks forward to the annual event. She said, "This event is always very well attended, and I have come to recognize that 'Aggies' have remained wonderfully loyal to their school and to one another. It's always a special event--almost more of a 'family' reunion than a high school reunion."
