Willmar man dies as result of Thursday accident, January 2010

KERKHOVEN -- A Willmar man who was injured in an accident Thursday near Kerkhoven has died.

Craig W. Hartman, 53, of Willmar, died Friday at the St. Cloud Hospital, according to the State Patrol.

The death was the result of injuries Hartman sustained in a two-vehicle, head-on crash around 10 a.m. Thursday east of Kerkhoven.

According to the State Patrol, Hartman was driving a 2002 Chevy Express van westbound on U.S. Highway 12 following a snow plow, while a 2005 Freightliner M2 truck driven by David M. Evazich, 27, of Burnsville, was eastbound.

Evazich reported to officers that as his vehicle came through blowing snow from the plow, Hartman's van was in his lane and the vehicles collided head-on.
