Wilma L. Matejka
Wilma L. Matejka, of Sarasota, Fla., formerly of Alberta, Minn., died July 20 at the age of 76. A graveside memorial will be held July 31 at 10:30 a.m. at Summit Cemetery in Morris. National Cremation Society is handling arrangements. Wilma was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Doris Kahl of Alberta; a brother, Clair; and a sister, Ruth, Mrs. Harley Peters. Survivors include her husband, Wayne, of Sarasota; daughter Wanda (Terry) Jackson of Sarasota; son Wesley (Cathy) of Sour Lake, Texas and six grandchildren. Wilma was born on a farm near Alberta, attended and graduated from Alberta Consolidated School and worked as a secretary at the school following her graduation. She also worked as a secretary at the college that her husband attended. Wilma was active in church ministries as a Sunday School teacher, girls' club leader and in the church choir. Her great love was children and being a mother and homemaker. She and her husband cared for a number of foster children. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Sarasota Nursing Home Christmas fund. The family expresses grateful thanks to the CNAs and staff of Sunnyside Nursing Home for their professional and gracious loving care of the past 7 1/2 years. There will be a luncheon at the Ed Kopel farm of Donnelly following the graveside services.
