A dangerously cold wind chill value will persist across all of west central Minnesota this morning as a winter storm approaches for late Thursday and Friday.

The blizzard conditions across the region have diminished overnight. Blowing and drifting snow with occasional visibility reductions are still possible today across the region.

The wind chill values will improve this afternoon.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm watch from Thursday evening through Friday afternoon.

The next potential weather storm will result in significant snowfall late Thursday and Friday in west central Minnesota. Snowfall amounts exceeding six inches are expected, especially along and south of a line from Morris to the Twin Cities metro to Eau Claire, Wis. and then spread northward in central Minnesota by Thursday evening.

Snow is expected to continue into the day Friday, with amounts over six inches possible by Friday afternoon. Snowfall accumulations approaching 10 inches appear possible along Interstate 90 in south central and southwestern Minnesota.
