The YCC Program is a summer employment program for young males and females, 15 through 18 years of age, from all segments of society, who work, learn and earn together by doing projects on public lands. The purpose of the Program is to further the development and maintenance of the natural resources of the United States by America's youth and, in so doing, to prepare them for the ultimate responsibility of maintaining and managing these resources for the American people.

Applications for this program are currently available at the Morris Wetland Management District Headquarters and Chokio-Alberta, Hancock, Morris Area, West Central Area, and Minnewaska Area Senior High Schools. All applications must be received at the Morris Wetland Management District Headquarters by 3 p.m. on April 30, 2012.

The 2012 YCC Camp will run for eight weeks, from June 4 through July 27, 2012.

All applicants must have a valid social security number and be at least 15 years of age by June 4, 2012 and no older than 18 years of age by July 27, 2012.

The Morris Wetland Management District YCC Camp will be non-residential (youths will live at home) and provide jobs for four local youth, two girls and two boys. Enrollees will be paid $7.25 per hour (Federal Minimum Wage Rate) for 40 hours each week. Enrollees are expected to be available to work the entire eight-week period and will be required to provide their own transportation to and from the Morris Wetland Management District Headquarters.

Participants will be selected through a random drawing process that will be conducted at the Morris Wetland Management District Headquarters on May 1, 2012 at 8 a.m. The drawing will be open to the public.

The District Headquarters is located approximately four miles east of Morris, MN at 43875 230th Street.

Enrollees will work under the supervision of an YCC Leader on a variety of natural resource projects including, but not limited to, fence construction and removal, cutting of noxious weeds, general building and grounds maintenance, and wildlife and plant inventories.
