Vietnam War era vets invited to Appreciation Day Sept. 12

The “Vietnam War Era Appreciation Day” is at Old #1 at 2 p.m.

Veterans who served during the Vietnam War era will be honored Sunday, Sept. 12, in Morris.

The “Vietnam War Era Appreciation Day” is at Old #1 at 2 p.m., and includes the posting of the colors, singing of the National Anthem, introductions, a short speech, a light lunch and the presenting of Certificates of Appreciation to every veteran who served from Feb. 28, 1961 to May 7, 1975.

Veterans will be honored whether they served in Vietnam, off shore, stateside or anywhere else in the world during that time.

The day is sponsored the Morris American Legion Post, VFW Post, AMVETS Post and the auxiliaries.

Every Vietnam era veteran from the Stevens County area, or who entered service from Stevens County is invited regardless of where they live now.

Veterans are urged to bring their spouse and family to the day which has been declared “Vietnam Veterans Era Appreciation Day” by a proclamation of Morris Mayor Sheldon Giese.
