Area emergency response personnel trained for the aftermath of an LP tank explosion on Monday at Morris Area schools and at Stevens Community Medical Center.
The drill was an explosive/decontamination exercise held in conjunction with the Stevens Community Medical Center. A simulated LP gas explosion scenario was set up in the Morris Area Elementary School parking lot.
Emergency response personnel practiced fire and medical response along with decontamination techniques. SCMC practiced its emergency response by setting up a triage site outside the hospital near the emergency room.
