MORRIS, Minn. - Morris Area High School students will present “The Ice Fishing Play,” a one-act play written by acclaimed Minnesota playwright, author and NPR commentator Kevin Kling.
Performances for “The Ice Fishing Play” will take place in the MAHS auditorium on Jan. 26 and 27 at 7:30 p.m. The sub-sectional one-act play competition will be held on Jan. 28 at West Central Area High School in Barrett. The show is directed by Seth Kelly with co-director Michael Strand.
“The Ice Fishing Play” transpires completely within the confines of an ice fishing house in rural Minnesota. The main character, Ron, retreats to his frozen paradise to be alone and fish (as anyone would), only to be disturbed by an eclectic cast of characters. Meanwhile, “the storm of the century” is on its way, and when it’s over nothing will be the same again.
