Lemke to swim at state meet 
Morris Area’s Stefan Lemke qualified in two events for the state Class A Swimming and Diving meet at the Section 3A meet Saturday in Detroit Lakes. Lemke placed second in both the 200 (1:48.74) and 500 freestyle (5:03.52).

Six Stingrays place in Western Regionals
Morris Area hosted the eighth annual Western Regional Championships on Feb. 11, and the Stingrays achieved six top-eight ribbon finishes and 14 season-best times.

Lemke breaks two more team records
On Tuesday evening, the Morris Area Stingrays hosted Detroit Lakes for a dual swim and dive meet in which the Lakers prevailed 109- 75. The highlight of the meet was Stefan Lemke swimming for two Morris Area school records in the 50- and 100-yard freestyle events with times of 22.37 and 48.77 seconds.

Lemke breaks pool records at Morris
Stefan Lemke set two new Morris pool records in the 200- and 500-yard freestyle events Thursday at the Regional Fitness Center. The Stingrays were hosting a double dual meet, falling to the Thunderhawks of Montevideo 94-87 and the Chargers of Dassel/Cokato-Litchfield 96-64.

Kildegaard, Anderson, Reese reach section time goals
The Morris Stingrays traveled to Detroit Lakes Tuesday for a dual meet with the Lakers. The varsity Stingrays fell to the Lakers 80-64, while the junior varsity fell by a score of 46-28.

The Morris Area Stingrays traveled to Sauk Centre Tuesday to take on the Melrose/Sauk Centre Fusion. The varsity lost 96-50, while the JV squad lost by a score of 80-23.

Reese achieves section time cut at Montevideo
The Morris Area Stingrays traveled to Montevideo on Tuesday, Dec. 22. In the nine individual swimming and diving events, the varsity Stingrays took four first-place and four second-place finishes, as well as winning two of the three relay events. However, the Thunderhawk individual entrants numbered 30 to only 16 for the Stingrays and Montevideo swam to a 104-65 varsity win.

On Saturday, Dec. 12, the Morris Area boys’ swim and dive team traveled to Fergus Falls for the traditional inaugural meet of the 2009-2010 high school season.
