Morris VFW drops to 2nd place

Madison pitcher Sam Haas threw a complete game two-hitter, walking just two, while his teammates played errorless ball behind him, to defeat the Morris VFW by 3-0 on Tuesday at Chizek Field.

State track and field participants received trophies at the spring sports awards program. They are (kneeling, left to right) Matt Wulf, Taylor Nohl, (standing) Rachel Moser, Corey Nohl, coach Mark Ekren, Stefan Lemke, Lincoln Arnold, Ross Larson, Jackson Henrich, and Cody Cannon.

The Morris Area softball team finished 2009 13-11 overall and tied for fourth place in the West Central Conference South.

The Morris VFW baseball team improved to 5-1 in District 5 action with wins over Ortonville and Montevideo. Post 5039 is 10-3 overall this season.
