Hancock put up four marks in the top of the first. C-G-B followed with four scores of its own in the bottom half. Same thing happened in the second, Hancock scored three in the top half and C-G-B responded with its own three in the bottom.

The Wolverines took the lead in the bottom of the third at 8-7. Hancock tied it up at 8-all in the top of the fifth. The tie was short-lived, however, as C-G-B added two runs in the bottom half and another four in the sixth to secure the win.

The errors in the field likely cost Hancock the game, tallying six total fielding errors compared to C-G-B’s two.

Nadine Miller had three hits, a RBI, and two runs scored to lead at the plate for Hancock. Sabrina Mattson, Haley Mattson, Ashlyn Mattson, and Lexi Staples all recorded two hits each as Hancock outhit C-G-B 12-10 on the day.

The road game at Ashby scheduled for Tuesday, April 18 was postponed. Hancock now travels to Brandon-Evansville on Friday, April 21 for its next game, then takes on the Chargers again next Tuesday, April 25 at 5 p.m. in Hancock.
