Owls use late rally to top Ashby

Hancock scored six runs in the top of the seventh to defeat Ashby, 11-8, on Monday, April 17 on the road.

Hancock held a 2-0 lead after the first inning, then Ashby mounted its comeback, one time leading by six at 8-2 after five innings. The Owls put together nine runs in the final two innings and held the Arrows scoreless to win their second game of the young season.

Michael Milander had two hits and drove in a pair. He also got the win in relief, his second win this season. Chandler Gramm recorded his first save of the year, recording two strikeouts in the bottom of the seventh.

The Owls will open the home season against West Central Area at 4 p.m. Thursday, April 20 in Chokio since Hancock's field is getting some upgrades done. Next week Hancock travels to Brandon-Evansville on Monday, April 24 and Ortonville on Thursday, April 27.
