MAHS grad to speak at sports kick off
Scott Erdahl, a 1995 Morris Area High School graduate, will be the featured speaker at this year's All-Sports Kick Off on Monday, Aug. 16.
Erdahl serves as an events and hospitality coordinator for the Minnesota Vikings. He joined the team in April of 2006 as Marketing Partnerships Coordinator and transitioned to his current position in Feb. 2007.
Erdahl's primary responsibility is the oversight of all fan-related logistics and operations of Vikings Training Camp. Responsibilities within that event include revenue generation, increasing attendance, event development and promotion, and community relations. Throughout his work with training camp, Erdahl has worked to develop a strong relationship with Minnesota State University, Mankato in order to provide internship opportunities for both undergraduate and graduate students looking for experience within the sports world. As part of this relationship, he was asked to serve as an adjunct professor for the 2009 spring semester at MSU.
Additional responsibilities with the Vikings include the coordination of team and corporate hospitality functions, and the development and execution of other annual team, corporate, and charitable events.
The kick off will be held at the Morris Area High School auditorium starting at 7 p.m.
All athletes in grades 7-12 planning to participate in any sports (fall, winter, spring) are expected to attend accompanied by their parents.
Morris Area and Minnesota State High School League policies will be reviewed at this time.
Discount card pre-sale forms will be distributed.
Activity passes will also be available.
The Sports Boosters will be on hand to promote new, different levels of membership.
After the program, fall athletes and parents will meet with the fall coaches.
All are welcome. Root beer floats will be served.
