Morris/CA wins twice in 3AA-North final
Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta went 2-0 in the Section 3AA-North baseball tournament Saturday to advance to the semifinals Wesnesday in Marshall.
The Tigers topped Montevideo 9-6 and then Redwood Valley 4-1.
The Tigers will face New Ulm at 5 p.m. Wednesday, while LQPV will face Fairmont at 7 p.m. The championship will be June 9 in Marshall.

Both teams had 12 hits, but Montevideo had four errors that led to three unearned runs.
The Thunder Hawks led 5-4 on a steal of home by Brett Bergeson before the Tigers took the lead for good with a pair of runs in the last of the fourth on a run-scoring double by Tyler Hansen and a sacrifice fly by Ryan Beyer. The Tigers padded their lead with two more in the sixth when Beyer hit a two-out single, stole second and scored on an error. Riley then singled and came around to score on an error.
Riley allowed only one hit and one run over the final 3-1/3 innings for the win. He walked none and struck out three.
Tyler Hansen was 1-for-4, 2 runs, 3b, rbi; Alex Erickson was 2-for-4, 2 runs; Ryan Beyer was 1-for-3, 2 rbi; Brody Bahr was 1-for-2, 2 runs; Eric Riley was 1-for-2, 2b, rbi; Cole Riley was 3-for-4, 2 rbi; Taylor Hufford was 1-for-4, 2b; and Ethan Bruer was 1-for-3.
Kyle TeBeest went 3-for-4 for the Thunder Hawks. Brett Bergeson had two hits and drove in two runs for Montevideo. Joe Bednar and Tanner Lindeman also had two hits apiece.
Morris/CA 4, Redwood Valley 1
Eric Riley spun a three-hitter and also hit a solo home run in the second inning to spark the Tigers.
Riley walked two and struck out two.
Leading 2-1, the Tigers tacked on a pair of insurance runs in the sixth on a wild pitch and Mitch Kill's run-scoring single.
Ryan Beyer was 1-for-3, rbi; Eric Riley was 1-for-3, solo HR, rbi; Cole Riley was 1-for-3; and Mitch Kill 2-for-2, rbi.
