The Hancock Commercial Club will sponsor the annual "Evening with Santa" on Monday, Nov. 28. The evening will begin at 6 p.m. at the Hancock Community Center with a message from an area pastor. After singing Christmas carols, Santa and Mrs. Claus are due to arrive. The children are invited to visit Santa, bring him their wish lists, and even have a ride in his sleigh pulled by a couple of reindeer. Cookies and other goodies will be provided both inside and outside.

It is a good thing that the Hancock School district audit shows a healthy fund balance because there are some big expenses coming up in the next few years. The biggest of these is roof repair work. In 2017, a large section of the Hancock school building will be up for roof replacement and in 2018 another piece will need restoration. In the graph, the area in red is scheduled for replacement next year and the blue will need restoration in 2018. The green area was redone during the last construction project so is still in good condition.
It is a time to be thankful. Thanksgiving is here and we wanted to know what people in the Hancock area are thankful for. We randomly asked people in the community to share what they are thankful for and here is what we learned. "I am thankful to the Hancock community. They are always willing to support each other and all the local organizations. Also if an individual is in need, they come together to help out without expecting anything in return. That is what made me want to move to town in 1999." - Kyle Rose
