The overwhelming sentiment is expected to result in the state Soil Conservation committee authorizing a county-wide referendum on the question at which farm owners and occupants will vote on the matter.

65 Years Ago Items taken from the Tribune of December 8, 1950 Dentists in Morris joined in a statement this week to call attention of the public to the value of fluorine in drinking water as a method of lessening tooth decay, and to urge the city to purchase and install a fluoridation plant to treat the Morris water supply with this element. Uniting in the statement were Drs. O. T. Johnson, R. H. Moffatt, Jan J. Muller, Robert G. Leuty, L. D. Vanderhoef and H. W. Jorgenson. Five Stevens County young men left for Minneapolis for induction into the armed forces of the nation.

65 Years Ago Items taken from the Tribune of November 17, 1950 Donations to the Stevens County Memorial Hospital by families, individuals, civic and service organizations, farm groups and governmental units of the county are now in excess of $40,000, it was reported in connection with laying the cornerstone for the new hospital. The largest contribution to the hospital was made by the late Nora Grim, who willed the bulk of her estate to that cause. The estate is expected to be in excess of $30,000.
