Come, Holy Spirit. Come with wind and fire. Shake us to our foundations. Breathe upon us again. Those words are part of a prayer for Pentecost. Sunday, June 4, was the day to hear again about the coming of that Spirit to those early believers in Jerusalem, coming like a strong wind and tongues of fire, freeing up voices to speak and ears to hear, each in their own language. Those first followers were shaken to their foundations, and the Christian Church was born. We continue to remember the day.
