Olaf "Bob" Dybdal, 82, of Elbow Lake, died Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2012, at the Prairie Ridge Hospital in Elbow Lake. Services for Bob Dybdal were held Monday, Feb. 13, 2012, at United Lutheran Church in Elbow Lake with the Rev. Bob Toso officiating. Burial was in Ness Cemetery, Elbow Lake. Olaf Arthur "Bob" Dybdal was born on Oct. 29, 1929, in Fergus Falls, to Edson Arthur and Mildred Beatrice (Belgum) Dybdal. Bob graduated from Elbow Lake High School.
Memorial services for Alma E. Quaal of Wadena, will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 13, 2012 at the Johnson Memorial Home in Wadena with Pastor Stephen Meltzer presiding. Alma passed away at the age of 89 years on Monday, Feb. 6, 2012 at the Fair Oaks Lodge in Wadena. Alma Elvira Quaal was born on August 2, 1922 to Siebelt W. and Ella K. (Rankin) Goldenstein at Pipestone. She was united in marriage with Reuben Alfred Quaal on June 22, 1957 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. She worked for over 30 years as a bookkeeper at the Donnelly Creamery in Donnelly.
Madeleine Berglund, 91 of Henning, formerly of Morris, died on Thursday Feb. 2, 2012 at Tri County Hospital in Wadena. Arrangements are pending with the Belmont Funeral Home in Henning.
Capt. Nathan R. McHone, 29, died Thursday, Jan. 19, 2012 in Helmand Province, Afghanistan. Born April 24, 1982, he was the son of Ronald and Sylvia (nee Smith) McHone. In 2005 Nathan McHone was commissioned to the Marine Corps and reported to Basic School in Quantico, Va. After that, he went to Naval Aviation Command in Pensacola, Fla., as an entry-level student. He served there for two years, earning in 2007 the rank of first lieutenant. He then was assigned to Heavy Marine Helicopter Training-302 squadron, Marine Aircraft Group-29, as a student pilot in Jacksonville, N.C.
Lee Nadine Lesmeister, age 50, of Bloomington, passed away peacefully among family and friends, Jan. 17, 2012. She was preceded in death by her mother, Caryl Meehl and father, George Meehl, and father-in-law, James Lesmeister. Survived by husband, Vern; brother, Gerry Meehl and wife, Gail; sister, Lynn and husband, Don Swanson; nephews, Randall Meehl and Dennis and Kyle Swanson, and many other loving family and friends. The funeral service will be held Saturday, Jan. 21, at 3 p.m. at Morris Nilsen Chapel, 6527 Portland Ave. S, Richfield.
The funeral for Mildred J. Asmus, of Morris, Minn. will be held on Saturday, Jan. 7, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, near Morris, with Rev. Michael Hanson officiating. Visitation will be on Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris; and on Saturday one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at the Summit Cemetery, Morris. Mildred died on Monday, Jan. 2, 2012 at the Courage Cottage in Morris. She was 88 years old.
Memorial services for Genevieve Dosdall of Hancock, Minn. will be held Saturday, Jan. 7, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. at Our Redeemer's Lutheran Church in Hancock. Rev. Julius Miller will be officiating. Visitation will be held Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. with a prayer service at 7 at Our Redeemer's Lutheran Church and for one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. A Private family burial will be at Lakeside Cemetery in Hancock. Genevieve died on Wednesday, January 4, 2012 at Glacial Ridge Hospital in Glenwood, Minnesota, having lived to reach the age of 88 years.
Funeral services for Doris Driggins of Morris, Minn. were held Friday, Jan. 6, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Cyrus, Minn. Rev. John R. Smith officiate. Burial was in Cyrus South Cemetery, rural Cyrus. Doris died on Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2012 at West Wind Village in Morris. She lived to reach the age of 88 years.

Thomas E. Belka, of Morris, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Dec. 31, 2011 at Kindred Hospital in Fargo, N.D., with family at his side. He was 64 years of age. Thomas Edward Belka was born on Jan. 22, 1947 to Edward and Marguerite (Abel) Belka in Detroit Lakes. After his family spent a brief time in Alabama during the Korean War, they returned to Minnesota where he attended Fergus Falls public schools. He was an active member of the Boy Scouts of America, and was awarded the first Pro Deo et Patria (God and Country) medal ever given out at Trinity Lutheran Church.
