Funeral services for Richard Howe of Chokio will be held Monday, May 30, 2011 at 2 p.m. at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Chokio. Reverend Elmer Cox will be officiating. Visitation will be held Sunday from 3 to 6 p.m. at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Chokio and for one hour prior to services at the church on Monday. Burial will be in the Chokio Lutheran Cemetery, rural Chokio. Richard Howe, son of Gordon and Ida (Campbell) Howe was born on Dec. 30, 1930 in Aurora, Ill. He moved with his family at the age of three to Chokio, Minnesota, where he grew up and attended school.
Randy Kill of Isanti, son of Butch and Shirley Kill of Donnelly, passed away Saturday, May 21, 2011 at the age of 52. Services are pending at Washburn Funeral Home in Coon Rapids.
Richard Lee Wyman was born in Morris, on July 2, 1931, and died on May 14, 2011, just two months before his 80th birthday. He was a greatly admired teacher of speech and drama, director of theatrical productions, actor, and playwright. He taught and directed plays at Windom High School; Coronado High School (California), Momingside College (Iowa), and George Williams College (Downers Grove, Il.). He also directed many productions for the GWC Banner Players, a summer community theatre.
Earl Keith Folger, 86, of Fergus Falls, died Saturday, May 21, 2011, at Lake Region Healthcare. He was born Feb. 16, 1925, in Hawley, the son of Francis Virgil and Frances Irene (Ritteman) Folger. His father worked for the Highway Department, so as a child he traveled with his family throughout Minnesota. He graduated from Hawley High School in 1943. Following graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served in the Pacific on the USS Beryl. He was discharged in February of 1946 and returned to Hawley. On June 23, 1946, he married Lois Peck in Hawley.
Dorothy Margery Kent was born Oct. 15, 1923 to Carl and Hazel (Waller) Pederson of Donnelly. She was baptized and confirmed into the Kongsvinger Lutheran faith. She grew up in rural Donnelly and attended grade school and graduated from Alberta High School in 1943. She studied nursing after graduation and was employed at Morris Stevens County Hospital. Later she was employed at Daytons and the Minneapolis Moline Plant for four years. Dorothy was united in marriage on Nov. 6, 1947 to Charles Kent of Danvers, at St.
Sergé Ramon Lisk died at his home in Morris, on Monday, May 16,2011 after a courageous battle with an aggressive form of lymphoma. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Jacqueline Rae Johnson, and his five beloved children: Sebastien (Battseren) Lisk, Chicago, Ill.; Chai Lisk, Portland, Ore.; Kassia (Chad) Williams, Conklin, Mich. and granddaughter Klara Rose Williams; Simeon (Elizabeth) Lisk, Sheldon, Iowa; and Nadia Johnson-Lisk, Chicago, Ill. He is also survived by his dear friend Richard Ranta of Grand Rapids; a brother, Dmitri Lisquez; and many nieces and nephews.
Bernice Lannon, age 84 of Alexandria, died on Wednesday May 11, 2011 at the Knute Nelson Memorial Home in Alexandria with her family at her side. Funeral services are scheduled for 12:30 p.m. on Saturday May 14, 2011 at the Church of St. Mary in Alexandria with Fr. Steve Binfeld officiating. Visitation is at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday at the church. Pallbearers are: Tim Lannon. Patrick Lannon, Stephen Lannon, Ryan Reuter, Alec Larson, Matthew Hartung, and John Hartung. Interment is in Our Lady of the Lake Cemetery in Battle Lake.
Funeral services for Ronald Hottovy of Morris, will be held Saturday, May 14, 2011 at 10 a.m. at Assumption Catholic Church in Morris. Father Tim Baltes will be officiating. Visitation will be held Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. with a prayer service at 7 p.m. at the Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris and for one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Morris. Ronald Raymond Hottovy, son of Raymond and Marcella (Hraban) Hottovy, was born June 2, 1950 in Seward, Neb. Ron was baptized on June 18, 1950 in Dwight, Neb.
Irene Koosmann, age 89, of Glenwood, passed away on Sunday, May 8, 2011, at Glenwood Village Care Center, following a lengthy illness. Funeral services were held on Thursday, May 12, at Glenwood Lutheran Church, with Rev. Krista Lee officiating. Interment was in Glenwood Cemetery. Arrangements were with Hoplin-Hitchcock Funeral Home of Glenwood. Irene Ida Sophia Schuerman, daughter of Ernest F. and Elfrieda (Platow) Schuerman, was on July 11, 1921 at home on a farm near Holloway. She attended St. John's Lutheran Church in Moyer Township and was a graduate of Holloway High School.
Myra W. Sperr, age 96, Sauk Rapids, died Wednesday, April 27, 2011 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Home, Sauk Rapids. Funeral services will be Saturday, June 25, 2011 at 11 a.m. at Herman Methodist Church, Herman. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery, Herman. She married William Sperr on June 4, 1934 in Herman. Myra taught rural school in Stevens County and 17 years in the Herman Public School, Herman, retiring in 1973. She moved to the St.
