Donald Roger Giese was born on June 19, 1927 in Morris, to Carl and Laura (Mau) Giese. He was baptized and confirmed at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Swan Lake Township, Stevens County. He attended country school District 33 in rural Donnelly through the eighth grade. He then worked on several farms in Minnesota and North Dakota. On Dec. 8, 1951, Don was united in marriage to Evelyn Lueneburg. They farmed north of Hoffman. He was drafted in 1954 and served in the US Army, stationed in California.
Donald R. Giese age 84 of Hoffman died on Thursday, August 25, 2011 at the Hoffman Good Samaritan Home. A funeral service will be held 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 28 at Messiah Lutheran Church in Hoffman with a visitation from 5-7 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 27, at Messiah Lutheran Church in Hoffman and for one hour prior to the service on Sunday. Funeral services for Lorraine Rohloff were held on Thursday, Aug. 25, 2011, at 1:30 PM, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Appleton. Pastor Tim Renstrom officiated at the services. Eileen Schwarz was the organist and accompanied the congregation in the singing of the hymns. Casketbearers were Ron Hoffman, Randy Melchert, Rick Melchert, Dean Rohloff, Steve Rohloff, and Michael Schnitzler. Interment was at the Appleton City Cemetery. Funeral services for Betty Jane Sell Willer, age 86, of Morris, retired Morris Senior High School teacher, was held Tuesday, August 23, 2011 at Washburn-McReavy, Eden Prairie, She is survived by her daughters, Shannon (Dan) Schacht of Amery, Wis., Gretchen (John) Winters of Eden Prairie; grandchildren, Aaron, Moses and Megan Clarey. Richard Alan Grant, of Morris died on Aug. 9, 2011 at his home in Morris. He was 84 years old. A private family service will be held at a later date.

Memorial services for Keith E. Lundquist, Sr., were held at Kirby Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, July 18, 2011. He was born Nov. 21, 1940 at Hoffman and died in Mountain Home, Ark. on July 14, 2011 at the age of 70. Keith was a building and grounds inspector at the Morris Public School and lived in Cyrus until 1999.
Mavis J. Gulbrandson, age 78 of Hoffman, died on Sunday, Aug. 7, 2011 at the Hoffman Good Samaritan Home in Hoffman. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 10, at Messiah Lutheran Church in Hoffman. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 9 at Messiah Lutheran Church in Hoffman and for one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesay.
Josh Perreault passed away July 23, 2011 due to a motorcycle accident. Funeral services for Josh were held July 28, 2011 at Oconomawac, Wis. Josh was the son of Larry and Lori Perreault, formerly of Morris and Alexandria. Josh is survived by his parents, grandparents Leo and Virginia Perreault of Morris and Dorothy Strand of Alexandria. Josh was born in Green Bay, Wis. on Dec. 16, 1982 to Larry and Lori (Strand) Perreault. He was the oldest brother of Kacey and Tory. Even though he was born in Green Bay he was an avid Vikings fan. They moved to Wales, Wis.
