Funeral services for Elmer Henry Madison of Chokio will be held Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. at First Lutheran Church in Morris. Rev. Arthur Montgomery will be officiating. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris and for one hour prior to services at the church on Wednesday. Burial will be in Summit Cemetery in Morris. Elmer Henry Madison was born in Rockwood Township in Wadena County on Nov. 25, 1920 to Henry and Marie Madison. He attended Alberta country school grades 1 thru 8. He was one of five children.
Memorial services for Burton Strand of Donnelly will be held Monday, Jan. 31, 2011 at 11a.m. at Kongsvinger Lutheran Church, rural Donnelly. Reverend Judy Gelinske will be officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church on Monday. Burial will be held in the spring in Kongsvinger Lutheran Cemetery. Burton Hansen Strand, son of Moses and Edna (Hansen) Strand, was born Sept. 29, 1931 in Donnelly Township in Stevens County, where he grew up. Burton was baptized on Oct. 18, 1931 by Rev. Andrew Olson and confirmed on Oct. 21, 1945 by Rev.
Burton Strand, age 79 of Donnelly, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2011. Funeral services will be held on Monday, Jan. 31 at 11 a.m. at Kongsvinger Lutheran Church of rural Donnelly, with visitation one hour prior to services at the church. Burila will be held in the spring.
Rudolph Theodore Gulbrandson "Rudy", age 92 of Wasilla, Alaska, formerly of Donnelly, died Jan. 24, 2011 at the Alaska Veterans and Pioneers Home in Palmer, Alaska from complications with pneumonia. Born June 28, 1918, in Donnelly, to Warner and Maud Gulbrandson. Rudy completed school through the 8th grade, was confirmed at Konsvinger Lutheran Church. During WWII he enlisted in the Marines Feb. 2, 1942, and was a member of the 5th Infantry. His time of service was spent in the Pacific Theatre and served in Japan Sept. 1945- Feb. 1946 on occupation duty. Rudy returned home Feb. 6, 1946.
Funeral services for Leonard Eich of Morris, will be held Monday, Jan. 31, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. at Assumption Catholic Church in Morris. Father Tim Baltes will be officiating. Visitation will be held Sunday from 4 to 8 p.m. with a prayer service at 7 p.m. at the Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris and for one hour prior to services at the church on Monday. A private family burial will be held at a later date in Calvary Cemetery in Morris. Military rites will be provided by the Morris American Legion, VFW and AmVets. Leonard Eich, son of Emil and Anna (Olson) Eich, was born Feb.
Funeral services for Carol Lee Brevig of Herman will be held Saturday, Jan. 29, at 10 a.m. at Kongsvinger Lutheran Church, rural Donnelly. Reverend Judy Gelinske will be officiating. Visitation will be held Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris and for one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery in Herman. Carol Lee Smith, daughter of George and Grace (Kopecky) Smith, was born Dec. 28, 1928 in Ree Heights, S.D. Carol grew up in the rural Herman area, where she was baptized at the United Methodist Church.
Tilford E. Hellie Jr, 71, St Croix Falls, passed away in his sleep at his home on Sunday, Jan. 23. Tilford was born May 18, 1939 to Tilford and Clara Hellie of Morris, where he was raised. After graduating from Morris High School in 1957 he attended college and earned his bachelors degree in education. After college Tilford was an active member of the Army National Guard for several years. In 1967 Tilford married Gretchen Dokken of Benson. Benson became their home and they had two sons, Christopher and Erik.
Lloyd C. Neudick, 92, died Monday, Dec. 27, 2010 at the Central Montana Medical Center due to congestive heart failure. Lloyd was born Feb. 18, 1918, in Donnelly, to John and Hilda (Anderson) Neudick. He came to Danvers in 1936. He worked in the Danvers and Kolin area until he entered the Army in 1941. He served in Hawaii during World War II. He returned to Danvers after the war. On Nov. 12, 1946, in Danvers he was united in marriage to Mildred Barta. She preceded him in death in 1999. He farmed in the Harwood Bench area near Danvers for 41 years.
Funeral services for Beulah Carlson of Chokio, will be held Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2011 at 11 am at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Chokio. Reverend Gloria Anderson will be officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church on Wednesday. Burial will be held in the spring. Beulah Josephine Carlson, daughter of John and Nellie (Sorenson) Carlson, was born June 18, 1919 in Stevens Township in Stevens County, where she grew up and attended Country School. She was baptized and confirmed at Artichoke Lutheran Church.
The memorial gathering for John O. Ehlers of Morris, will be held at a later date. John O. Ehlers, son of John and Olina (Ostrom) Ehlers was born on Aug. 1, 1919 at Douglas, N. D., where he grew up and attended school. He graduated from Douglas High School in 1937, and moved with his family to a farm near Elbow Lake. John was united in marriage to Dagny Elizabeth Sageng on Dec. 7, 1939. The couple made their home on a farm near Barrett. After farming for many years, John made a significant career change and became an owner and chef of a restaurant in Barrett. Dagny died on Dec. 26, 1968.
