Arlene J. Carbert, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother from Circle Pines, passed away suddenly at home on Aug. 17, 2010. Arlene J. Carbert was born May 24, 1933 in Holloway. Arlene enjoyed spending time with her family and her beloved dog, Brandi. She also enjoyed shopping, fishing, and traveling.
Funeral services for Gloria Johnshoy of Hancock were held Wednesday, Aug. 18, 2010 at Fron Lutheran Church in Starbuck. Reverend Sarah Taylor officiated. Burial was in Fron Lutheran Cemetery, rural Starbuck. Gloria May Peterson, daughter of Louis and Minnie (Boekholt) Peterson, was born May 28, 1930 in El Dorado Township in Stevens County. Gloria grew up and attended country school in rural, Herman. While growing up she also worked in a café in Herman. On Sept. 15, 1949, she was united in marriage to Harold Johnshoy. To this union one son was born.
Memorial services for Samuel Luke Lesmeister, age 22, will be Friday, Aug. 20 at 11 a.m., at the Risen Son Baptist Church in Thermopolis, Wyo. Cremation has taken place. Sam died Sunday, Aug. 15, 2010 in an auto accident in Wind River Canyon. Born Dec. 13, 1987, in Salt Lake City, Utah, he was the son of Lee and Patricia (Mullin) Lesmeister. His family lived in Evanston and Riverton where Sam was homeschooled by his mother until he attended Trinity Lutheran School in Riverton. At the age of 12, the family moved to Annandale, Minn. where Sam excelled in sports, especially loving soccer.

Visitation will be held Tuesday from 5 to 8 PM at the Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris and for one hour prior to services at the church on Wednesday. Burial will be in Summit Cemetery in Morris. Wayne Walter George Rohloff, son of Fred and Rose (Hamann) Rohloff, was born Feb. 10, 1926 in Fairfield Township of Swift County. Wayne was baptized on March 14, 1926 at Fairfield church and later confirmed in Holloway.

Burial will be in Summit Cemetery in Morris. Mae Dorothy Sperr, daughter of John and Lena (Willie) Sperr, was born August 4, 1924 on the family farm near Donnelly, where she grew up and attended rural schools in the area.
Lyla Jystad, age 83 of Rochester, formerly of Dilworth, died Aug. 12, 2010 at Sunrise Cottages in Rochester. Funeral services for Lyla Jystad will be held Wednesday, Aug. 18 at 2 p.m. at the Dilworth Lutheran Church. Ella Agnes Bendt, daughter of Nick and Ella (Bornhoft) Bendt, was born July 9, 1914 in Campbell, Minnesota, where she was baptized on November 29, 1914 at the Lutheran Church by Reverend Helmstetter. Ella grew up in Wilkin County, where she also began her schooling. On June 13, 1939, she was united in marriage to Elmer Bendt in Sisseton, South Dakota.
Agatha Frances Moriarity Hufford DeBuhr, "Farmer and Housewife" (mother of Nancy Bauer) age 91 of Alexandria, formerly of Morris, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 3, 2010. A Memorial Mass will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 10 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Alexandria. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church on Tuesday. Cathy Engelby, age 56, of Hoffman, died peacefully on Tuesday, Aug. 3, 2010 with her family, Steve, Kristel, Darcie, Steve and Judy at her bedside at the Good Samaratin Center in Hoffman following her courageous battle with cancer. Cathy was born in Graceville on Aug. 24, 1953, the daughter of William (Bill) and Lorna (Jurgens) Boerner. One of five children, she grew up on the family farm where she learned the benefit of hard work and hard play which served her well in her future. Cathy was baptized, confirmed and married at Kongsvinger Lutheran Church of Donnelly.
