Violet Mae Batdorf, age 80 of Morris, died on Dec. 29, 2009 at West Wind Village in Morris after a courageous 21 year battle with Parkinson's disease. Funeral services for Violet Mae Batdorf will be at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2010 at Atonement Lutheran Church in St. Cloud. Friends and relatives may call after 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church. Rev. John Kroschel will officiate and burial will be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis. Violet was born on May 30, 1929 to the late John Einar and Agnetta Justine (Peterson) Erickson in Saginaw. She married Leland C.
Dale John Beebe, age 53 of Cannon Falls, passed away on Wednesday morning, Dec. 30, 2009 at his home following a courageous battle with cancer. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 2, 2010 at First English Lutheran Church with the Pastors Dan Forsgren and Phillip Ruud, officiating. Friends may call from 4 until 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 1, 2010 at the church, also one hour prior on Saturday. Dale John Beebe was born Dec. 11, 1956 in Morris, the son of Marshall and Mildred (Barrie) Beebe. He was raised and educated in Morris, graduating from Morris High School in 1975.
Funeral services for Frank Snorek of Morris will be held Saturday, Jan. 2, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. at Assumption Catholic Church in Morris. Father Tim Baltes will be officiating. Visitation will be held Friday from 2 to 4 pm, with a prayer service at 4 p.m., at Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris and for one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday. Burial will be held at Calvary Cemetery in Morris, with Military Rites being provided by the Morris VFW, American Legion and AmVets. Frank Joseph Snorek, son of Frank Sr. and Edna (Haugen) Snorek, was born Nov. 24, 1922 in Morris.
Orgene Larson was born in Appleton, Minn. on May 2, 1948 to Orvin and Josephine (Brustuen) Larson. He graduated from Appleton High School and Moorhead State College. Following college he entered the US Navy and was honorably discharged in 1972. Gene completed his degree in Mortuary Science at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities. He was a high school librarian in Dawson and History teacher, football and wrestling coach in Custer, S.D. He was a mortician in Ft. Dodge and Sioux City, Iowa; Coolidge, Ariz. and Appleton and Wheaton. He married Gaye Olmsted in Coolidge in 1987.

Funeral services for Vernon Pederson of Starbuck will be held Saturday, Dec. 26, 2009 at 1 p.m. at East Zion Lutheran Church,Starbuck. Visitation will be held Saturday from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at the Minnewaska Lutheran Home in Starbuck and will continue for one hour prior to services. Vernon Pederson, 83, of Starbuck, went home to Jesus on Dec. 21, 2009. Vernon was born to Elmer and Mable (Knutson) Pederson on June 6, 1926. He was baptized and confirmed in his beloved East Zion Lutheran Church in which his grandfather and great uncles were founders.
Pauline Jost, age 89, formerly of Osakis went to be with her Lord on Saturday, Dec. 19, 2009 from the Lakeview Good Samaritan Home in Glenwood, where she had been a resident. Pauline Anna Theresa Thralow was born on June 20, 1920 in Morris to Frank and Amanda (Zahl) Thralow. She was united in marriage to William Jost on Dec. 21, 1936 in Sisseton, S.D. The lived and worked near Morris for many years, where Bill worked as a sales representative and Pauline helped with his business and raised their four children. After their retirement in 1970, they moved to Osakis.
Peter Reque, age 80, of Alexandria, passed away on Dec. 18, 2009 at the Saint Cloud Hospital. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 22, 2009 at First Lutheran Church in Alexandria. Peter Richard Reque was born Feb. 21, 1929 in Graceville, to Reverend Paul S. and Amanda (Holvick) Reque. He was baptized at Trinity Lutheran Church in Clinton, where he lived until 1939. He was confirmed at Orfordville Lutheran Church in Wisconsin in 1943.
Funeral services for Kayden Hansen, infant son of Bethany Hansen, were held Monday, Dec. 21, 2009 at Zion Lutheran Church in Morris. Reverend Rob Jarvis officiated. Burial was at Summit Cemetery in Morris. Kayden Andrew Hansen was born on April 23, 2009 at the Douglas County Hospital in Alexandria. He and his loving mother, Bethany Hansen, made their home in Alberta. Kayden was also lucky enough to live with his grandparents, Ardyn and Lorie Hansen, who cherished the opportunity to share in the daily joys of having Kayden and Bethany in their home.
