Darren Kunz, age 40, of Fergus Falls, passed away Saturday, Dec. 17, 2011 under the care of Lakeland Hospice at Sheridan House, Fergus Falls, after nearly a year long battle with cancer. Darren Andrew Kunz was born Jan. 24, 1971, in Fergus Falls, to Peter and Jean (Moore) Kunz. Darren attended school in Fergus Falls and was in the class of 1989. Darren was an avid ball player, and was especially active in football, baseball, and wrestling in high school.
Eugene "Gene" Christianson, 71, Princeton, died Sunday, Dec. 11 at his home in Princeton. Eugene was born on May 18, 1940 in Starbuck, son of Obert and Elmira (Hanson) Christianson. He grew up and was educated at Cyrus, graduating from Cyrus High School in 1958. He and his brother, Wayne, lived at Farwell and Gene served in the Army National Guard from 1962 to 1968. He was united in marriage with Sheilah Faye Rust in Cyrus on Jan. 21, 1967. They made their home in Cyrus and the surrounding area until Aug. 3 of 1976, when they moved to Cold Spring.
A Memorial service for Craig Krosch of Sweet, Idaho, was held at his ranch on Saturday, Oct. 15, 2011. Craig passed away at the age of 69 on Monday, Oct. 10, 2011 at his home. Craig was born in Morris, Nov. 26, 1941 to Marvin and Margaret (Allis) Krosch.
Steven Guggisberg, age 67, of Starbuck, MN, died Saturday, Nov. 26, 2011, at Methodist Hospital in Rochester. A Mass of Christian Burial will held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 2, at Church of the Sacred Heart in Glenwood, with Father Peter Kirchner officiating. Visitation will be from 4-7 on Thursday at the funeral home in Glenwood and on Friday at the church, one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Glenwood. Arrangements are with Hoplin-Hitchcock Funeral Home of Glenwood.

A memorial service for Verna Lauraine (Karsten) Rinkenberger of Chokio, will be held Saturday, Nov. 19, 2011 at 11 a.m. at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Chokio. Alvin W. Rathke, 89, of Hoffman, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2011, at the Good Samaritan Center in Hoffman. Funeral services for Alvin Rathke will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, Nov.r 12, 2011, at Messiah Lutheran Church in Hoffman. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in Aeneas Cemetery, Stevens County. Alvin was born on Sept. 17, 1922, in Grant County to Walter Rathke Sr and Rosa Abel. He was baptized in the Lutheran faith on Oct. 8, 1922 and confirmed on June 27, 1937 at Zion Church in Hoffman.
Cameron O. Johnson, age 39 of Minneapolis, passed away after a valiant two month battle with lymphoma. Cameron was a capable freelance network engineer. He was preceded by aunt Karen Feuchtmann and is survived by parents, Dr. Rodney and Jean Johnson, brother Preston R. Johnson and wife Sarah of San Diego, Calif. A memorial gathering honoring the life of Tamara Mason, will be held Monday, Nov. 14, 2011 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris, with a time of sharing and a candle-light service to begin at 7 p.m. that evening. Rev. Jim Albert will be officiating. Tamara Lee Cobb-Mason was born Aug. 31, 1961 in Adams County, Ohio to parents, Jimmy and Carrol (Frances) Cobb. Tamara spent her early childhood in Ohio, later living in Mason County, Ky. She also spent several years in New Orleans, La. before moving to Morris in 2005.
Ruth Evelyn (Dokken) Ellingson, was born on Nov. 19, 1918, in Langhei Township, Pope County, the daughter of Bennie and Marie (Lien) Dokken. She was baptized on Dec. 15, 1918, by Rev. Christ Pederson at East Zion Lutheran Church and confirmed by Rev. K.R. Palmer in 1933 at East Zion Lutheran Church. She attended school at District #83 and graduated from Benson High School. In 1943 she was united in marriage to Milo A. Ellingson of Swift Falls, by the Rev. K.R. Pederson and the East Zion Parsonage. To this union three children were born, Jerome, Marilyn, and James.
