Virginia (Ginny) Martin was born in Morris on March 10, 1923. She was often found climbing silos or riding down the sling of the haymow. Receiving a 22 caliber rifle for her tenth birthday, her cousins would often comment on hearing 22s zinging through the trees every once in a while. Her childhood nickname was "Toots" the name of her cousin's pony which he would let her ride during the summer. After high school she attended and graduated from Hamline University in St. Paul in 1946.
Funeral services for Gordon Krosch of Alberta will be held Tuesday, Feb. 23, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Chokio. Father Peter VanderWeyst will be officiating. Visitation will be held Monday from 5 to 8 PM with a prayer service at 7:30 PM at the Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris and for one hour prior to services at the church on Tuesday. Burial will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, rural Chokio.

Visitation will be held Sunday from 4 to 8 PM with a rosary at 7:00 and prayer service at 7:30 at the Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris and for one hour prior to services at the church on Monday. Burial will be held in Calvary Cemetery in Morris. Berthella Josephine Winkels, daughter of Peter and Margaret (Molitor) Winkels, was born November 26, 1917 in Donnelly, Minnesota, where she grew up.
Elizabeth Evangeline Kopff McRoberts, age 92, of Morris, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 14, 2010 at West Wind Village. A private family service will be held at the West Wind Village Chapel with burial at the Calvary Cemetery in Morris in the spring of 2010. Elizabeth was born on April 9, 1917 near Buffalo to Henry Ernest and Grace (Varner) Kopff. She grew up on her family's resort on Lake Pulaski, attended Buffalo Public Schools and the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities. After college, she moved to Fargo, N.D. where she met her future husband, Raymond.

Visitation will be held for one hour prior to services at the church. Spring burial will take place at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery near Chokio. Thomas Jerome Ritter, son of Fabian and Elizabeth (Robertson) Ritter, was born November 28, 1954 in Morris, Minnesota. He was baptized on December 5, 1954 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Chokio by Father Hahn, and was also later confirmed at St. Mary's.
KERKHOVEN -- Lloyd J. Schutt, 93, of Kerkhoven died Monday at the Swift County-Benson Hospital. Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Bethesda Lutheran Church in rural Murdock. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery in Kerkhoven. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Harvey Anderson Funeral Home in Kerkhoven.

Burial will be in Summit Cemetery in Morris. Betty Marjorie Bartell, daughter of William and Jennie (Itzen) Bartell, was born August 9, 1929 in Herman, where she grew up. Betty attended and graduated from Herman High School.
Funeral services for Bernadine Rohloff were held on Saturday, Jan. 30, 2010 at St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Benson. Pastor Dennis McManus officiated. Lois Mitteness was the organist and Michelle Wiese sang the special music. Honorary Bearers were the great-grandchildren. Casketbearers were Lori Swanke, Rick Rohloff, Randy Rohloff, Scott Schake, Jim Schake, Lisa Larson, Dawn Olson, and Jim Oyen. Interment was at the Appleton City Cemetery. Bernadine Emma Rohloff was born on April 28, 1924, in Tara Township, Swift County to Gustav Adolph and Emma Rachel (Hoffman) Gades.
Joraan L. Forbord, age 22 of Benson, died on Tuesday, Jan. 26, 2010 at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester. A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 30 at East Zion Lutheran Church in rural Starbuck with Rev. Becky Worner officiating. Visitation will be Saturday, Jan. 30 from noon-2 p.m. at the church. Joraan Luverne Forbord was born May 7, 1987 in Benson, the son of Luverne and Mary Jo (Hilleren) Forbord. He was baptized and confirmed at East Zion Lutheran Church in Langhei Township, Pope County. He graduated in 2005 from Benson High School.

Visitation will be held for one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Burial will be at Summit Cemetery in Morris. Evelyn Myrtle Koch, daughter of Oscar Rudolph and Matilda "Tillie" (Hegg) Koch, was born June 15, 1916 in Nora Township, Pope County, Minnesota. Evelyn grew up on the family farm in Nora Township, and was baptized and confirmed at Nora Lutheran Church by Reverend Quammen.
