Funeral services for Bernard "Ben" Schneider of Morris will be held Wednesday, September 23, 2009 at 10:30 AM at Assumption Catholic Church in Morris. Father Tim Baltes will be officiating. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 4 to 8 PM with a KC Rosary at 7:00 and a prayer service at 7:30 at the Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris and for one hour prior to services at the church on Wednesday. Burial will in Calvary Cemetery in Morris.
Memorial services for Anita Louise Lindgren, of rural Hancock will be held on Saturday, Oct. 3, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Morris. Anita Louise (Eddy) Lindgren was born on April 15, 1947 in Minneapolis to Scott and Germaine (Pomerleau) Eddy. She attended and graduated from Holy Angels Academy in Richfield. She had a genuine desire to care for others, so she continued her education at St. Mary's College in Minneapolis graduating with a degree in nursing. She worked as a registered nurse in a variety of settings.
Waldo George Erickson, age 93, of Springfield, died on Saturday, Sept. 19, 2009 at St. John Lutheran Home in Springfield. Funeral services for Waldo Erickson will be held at St. John Lutheran Church on Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2009 at 11 a.m. The Clergy will be Pastor Carl Seamon. Visitation will be at the Sturm Funeral Home in Springfield on Tuesday, Sept. 22, 2009 from 4 to 7 p.m. Interment will be at the Home Cemetery in Sleepy Eye. Arrangements are with the Sturm Funeral Home in Springfield. Waldo Erickson was born in Itasca County to Eddie and Constance (Elmgren) Erickson on Sept.
Gary A. Gunvalson, age 56, of Kandiyohi, died Thursday, Sept. 17, 2009 at Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar. Memorial services was on Monday, Sept. 21, at Ebenezer Evangelical Lutheran Church in Kandiyohi. Interment was in the church cemetery. Gary Allen Gunvalson was born Jan. 7, 1953, in Starbuck, the son of Vernon "Tobby" and Lois (Amerson) Gunvalson. He grew up in Cyrus and graduated from Cyrus High School in 1971. He moved to Willmar and attended Willmar Community College, graduating with a degree in business. He also attended the Willmar Vo-Tech for mobile communications.
Funeral services for Martha Burmeister of Morris will be held Monday, September 21, 2009 at 11:00 AM at Federated Church in Morris. Reverend Hilda Parks will be officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church on Monday. Burial will be in the Chokio Lutheran Cemetery in Chokio. Martha Mauch, daughter of Edward and Elsie (Faatz) Mauch, was born August 10, 1916 in Dallas, South Dakota, where she grew up. She lived for a time in a sod home. She graduated from Milboro High School in Milboro, South Dakota.
Harlan James Hadler, age 74, died at his home in downtown Minneapolis on Sept. 15, 2009 due to natural causes. Harlan also known as "Harley" or "Dad" was born July 24, 1935 South of Alberta to Alfred and Edna (Bahnsen) Hadler. He grew up on the family farm and graduated from Alberta High School in 1953. He then enlisted in the Army on Nov. 15, 1954. Harlan was stationed in France and was involved in the Korean Conflict until he was honorably discharged on Aug. 26, 1957. Harlan was united in marriage to Beatriz Hadler on Jan. 20, 1982.
John Fitzgerald, age 94, passed away at his home on Sept. 10, 2009. John Michael Fitzgerald was born April 29,1915 in Hancock, the son of John and Mary (Carlson) Fitzgerald. He grew up on a farm in Hancock. He graduated from Hancock High School and continued his education at the University of Minnesota where he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Agriculture. After graduating he farmed near Hancock. On July 27,1941 John was united in marriage to Ida Stange in Morris. After their marriage, the couple farmed in Hancock until 1984 when they retired and moved to Morris.
Funeral services for Donald Woodke of Morris will be held Thursday, September 17, 2009 at 10:00 AM at Faith Lutheran Church in Morris. Reverend Dell Sanderson will be officiating. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 5 to 8 PM at the Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris and for one hour prior to services at the church on Thursday. Burial will be at Emmanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Swan Lake Township, rural Morris. Donald Herbert Woodke was born August 30, 1931 in Swan Lake Township to Herbert and Adela (Koehntop) Woodke.
Rev. Clifford M. Grindland was born April 25, 1922, to Chris and Mina Grindland near Bainville, Mont., where he was baptized and confirmed at First English Church. He graduated from high school in Bainville in 1940 and then completed one year at Concordia College, Moorhead, Minnesota, before returning home to work in his father's business. He returned to Concordia and received his B.A. in 1948. Cliff met Enid Jerde of Britton, S.D., in the Concordia Choir. They were united in marriage in 1949 and were blessed with three daughters and one son.
Funeral services for Dorothy Eleanor Schott of Graceville, formerly of Chokio, were held Wednesday, Sept. 16, 2009 at St. Mary's Catholic Catholic Church in Chokio. Father Tim Baltes officiated. Burial was at St. Mary's Cemetery in Chokio. Dorothy Eleanor Schott was born on March 25, 1917 in Havana, N.D. to Adlow and Rosetta (Bauman) Parrow. She was the oldest of thirteen children. Her father was a farmer and the family moved several times as Dorothy was growing up. They lived for a time near Clinton, then moved near Ortonville where they lived for ten years.
