Memorial services for Richard A. Mogler will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 13, 2010 at 11 a.m. at the Federated Church in Morris. Reverend Hilda Parks officiated. Richard (Dick) Mogler was bom on July 17, 1927 in Glenwood. Dick lived on a farm south of Morris with his parents Joe and Anna (Sommerfeld) Mogler. He served in the Army from 1946 to 1947, stationed at Fort Randall on the Aleutian Islands in Alaska. Dick married Greta DeLong on Jan. 7, 1949.
On Jan. 4, 2010, the exciting moments of pregnancy and new birth suddenly turned to sorrow and heartfelt loss with the unexpected death of our daughter, Adriana Natalie Giles. Although we were never able to meet you, you have left permanent little footprints on our hearts, and you will always be our precious little girl. Adriana was delivered at 11:37 am at the New River Medical Center in Monticello. She was 19" long and weighed 7 lbs. 6 oz. Funeral services for Adriana will be held Friday, Jan. 8, 2010 at 10:30 a.m.
Funeral services for Esther Elizabeth Rinke of Morris will be held Saturday, Jan. 9, 2010 at 2 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church in Morris. Reverend Robert Jarvis will be officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday. Burial will be in Summit Cemetery in Morris. Esther Elizabeth Rowland, daughter of Charles and Matilda (Lureen) Rowland, was born Jan. 16, 1920 in Beardsley, Minnesota. She grew up on a farm near Dumont and attended Country School District #49 in Dollymont Township in Traverse County. Esther met and married William Rinke on Oct. 20, 1938.
Raymond Gilbert Pochardt, born Feb. 23, 1924, entered into rest on Dec. 20, 2009. Services were held at Washburn McReavy Hillside Chapel in Minneapolis.
Funeral service for Dorothy L. Atchison will be 2 p.m., Wednesday Jan. 6, 2010, at Pilgrim Congregational United Church of Christ In Benson, with Pastor Karen O'Connell officiating. Burial will be in Benson City Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 - 7 p.m. Tuesday at Pilgrim Congregational United Church of Christ in Benson. Visitation will continue at the church for one hour prior to the service. Dorothy Lorraine Atchison was born March 26, 1922, in Correll, the daughter of George and Emma (Bohlman) Wilson. She was baptized and confirmed at Grace Lutheran Church in Correll.
Funeral services for Delia Elizabeth Tatge of Morris will be held Saturday, Jan. 9, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. at Federated Church in Morris. Reverend Hilda Parks will be officiating. Visitation will be held Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris and for one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday. Burial will be in Summit Cemetery in Morris. Delia Elizabeth Wahl, daughter of Karl and Martha (Nichols) Wahl, was born Sept. 4, 1929 in Holloway, where she grew up and began her schooling at a county school. She later attended and graduated from Benson Public Schools.
Bonnie Kay was born on December 21, 1945, in Hancock, the daughter of Fremont and Myrna (Scott) Mero. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Morris. Bonnie graduated from Morris High School Class of 1963. On Feb. 22, 1964, Bonnie was united in marriage to Robert Henrichs. To this union two sons were born: Shane and Mike. In 1975 Bonnie was married to Leo Sauer in Alexandria.
Claire LaFave Hutton, age 87, of Houston, Texas, formerly of Morris, died on Friday, Dec. 9, 2009 in Houston. Claire was born May 6, 1922 in Devils Lake, N.D. to Edward J. LaFave and Helena Heusgen LaFave. The family moved to Morris in 1920 where her father worked for and later became president of Citizens Bank. Claire graduated from Morris High School in 1940. She attended The College of St. Catherine in St. Paul but left after one year to go to work for the US State Department and later the War Department.
Violet Mae Batdorf, age 80 of Morris, died on Dec. 29, 2009 at West Wind Village in Morris after a courageous 21 year battle with Parkinson's disease. Funeral services for Violet Mae Batdorf will be at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2010 at Atonement Lutheran Church in St. Cloud. Friends and relatives may call after 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church. Rev. John Kroschel will officiate and burial will be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis. Violet was born on May 30, 1929 to the late John Einar and Agnetta Justine (Peterson) Erickson in Saginaw. She married Leland C.
Dale John Beebe, age 53 of Cannon Falls, passed away on Wednesday morning, Dec. 30, 2009 at his home following a courageous battle with cancer. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 2, 2010 at First English Lutheran Church with the Pastors Dan Forsgren and Phillip Ruud, officiating. Friends may call from 4 until 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 1, 2010 at the church, also one hour prior on Saturday. Dale John Beebe was born Dec. 11, 1956 in Morris, the son of Marshall and Mildred (Barrie) Beebe. He was raised and educated in Morris, graduating from Morris High School in 1975.
