Memorial services for Duane "Tiny" Bratton of Morris will be held Saturday, November 7, 2009 at 3:00 PM at First Lutheran Church in Morris, MN. Reverend Ali Boomershine will be officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday. Burial will be in Scandia East Lutheran Cemetery, rural Cyrus at a later date. Duane Jon "Tiny" Bratton, son of Ralph and Edna (Helgerson) Bratton, was born December 1, 1958 in Starbuck, Minnesota. He grew up on the family farm near Cyrus and was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Cyrus.
Memorial services for Raymond J. Lammers of Morris, formerly of Villard, will be held Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. at Assumption Catholic Church in Morris. Father Tim Baltes will be officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Osakis. Visitation will be held Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris and for one hour prior to services at the church on Tuesday.

Marcella Schroeder, age 84, of Fairfax, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2009, at the Fairfax Community Home. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 2, 2009, at St. John Lutheran Church in Fairfax, with interment in the church cemetery, in Cairo Township, Renville County. Pastor Scott Muske will officiate. Arrangements by Hauser-Hantge Funeral Chapel in Fairfax. Marcella Amanda (Freyholtz) Schroeder was born on Nov. 13, 1924, in Wellington Township, Renville County. She was the daughter of Franz and Anna (Grosam) Freyholtz. Marcella was baptized as an infant on Nov.
Memorial services for Darlene Gunderson of Morris were held Monday, Oct. 26, 2009 at First Lutheran Church in Morris. Reverend Todd Mattson officiated. Burial was in Summit Cemetery in Morris. Darlene Joanne Sjolsvold, daughter of Albert and Verna (Seaverson) Sjolsvold, was born Oct. 31, 1936 in Thief River Falls. Darlene's family lived on a farm in rural Thief River Falls, until they moved into Thief River Falls. Darlene met David Gunderson while they both were working at the S&L Store in Thief River Falls.
Suzanne Kleone Sarlette, age 59, of Muscatine, Iowa, passed away on Oct. 12, 2009 at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City as the result of a cerebral hemorrhage caused by a cancerous brain tumor. Suzanne was born in Morris on Aug. 9, 1950, the daughter of Walter and Florence (Frayseth) Sarlette. Sue was baptized and confirmed at First Lutheran Church in Morris. She graduated from Morris High School as valedictorian of the class of 1968. As a senior at Morris High School, Sue earned both the Math Award and the Bausch and Lomb Science Award.
Lucille Elizabeth Olson, age 88, sister of Sam Logan of Chokio and formerly of Donnelly, passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 16, 2009 at her home in Yuma, Ariz.
Howard Clinton Walker, age 91 of Baldwin, Wis., passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, Oct. 21, 2009. He was born the son of Robert Loa and Elma Jane (Clark) Walker on June 30, 1918 in Morris. He attended District 70 School in Morris Township and then Morris High School. In 1941, he was inducted into the National Guard, and then into the US Army, proudly serving in WWII. Howard became a weapons instructor at Ft. Benning, Ga., and he was honorably discharged in 1945. Howard and Edna Gillespie were united in marriage on Sept. 4, 1942. They were blessed with seven children.
Burton Johnson, age 92, of Starbuck died Friday, Oct. 23, 2009 at the Minnewaska Lutheran Home in Starbuck. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Oct. 27 at Indherred Lutheran Church in Starbuck. Visitation will be 5 - 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 26 at the Hoplin-Hitchcock Funeral Home in Glenwood, and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday. Arrangements are with Hoplin-Hitchcock Funeral Home in Glenwood.
