Edward Jerome Lesmeister was born on May 2, 1934 in Glenwood to Matthew and LaVern (Voit) Lesmeister. He attended and graduated from Glenwood and went on to attend two years of college at St. John's University. Ed was united in marriage to Carole Hillier on November 20, 1954 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Glenwood. They spent the majority of their married life in Rochester, coming to Alexandria in 1990. Ed worked in the auto business all of his life; most recently at Auto Value in Alexandria. Ed enjoyed his years of hunting, fishing and trapshooting.
Funeral services for Mitchell Doyle Kleindl, 13, of Herman will be held Monday, July 20, 2009 at 11 a.m. at the Herman High School Gymnasium in Herman with Rev. Jennifer Rose officiating. Visitation will be held Sunday, July 19, from 4 until 8 p.m. with a 7 p.m. prayer service at the Herman High School Gymnasium, and also one hour prior to services at the school. Interment will be in Lakeside Cemetery, Herman. Honorary pallbearers are: the Herman Class of 2013, the Babe Ruth "Red Team", Morris 13U baseball team, the WHN Junior High baseball team and all of Mitch's cousins.
Funeral services for Clifford Skoglund will be held on Saturday, July 18, 2009 at 10 a.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church in Donnelly. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at Vinger Cemetery in Donnelly. Clifford William Skoglund, son of Carl and Signey (Peterson) Skoglund, was born Feb. 12, 1912 in St. Paul. He was baptized on April 21, 1912 by Reverend L. A. Johnston and confirmed on June 5, 1927 at Bethany Lutheran Church by Reverend C. S. Ranius.
Funeral services for Leo Miller of Morris will be held Monday, July 20, 2009 at 10:00 AM at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, rural Alberta. Reverend Robert Amundson will be officiating. Visitation will be held Sunday from 6 to 8 PM with a prayer service at 7:30 PM at the Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris and for one hour prior to services at the church on Monday. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Leo Merle Miller, son of Portland and Grace (Pfander) Miller, was born February 7, 1918 in Sharpsburg, IA, where he grew up and at the age of 13 began working full time on the family farm.
Funeral services for Mike Rutledge of Starbuck, were held Monday, July 13, 2009 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Glenwood. Father Peter Kirchner officiated. Burial was at the Minnewaska Lutheran Cemetery in Starbuck. Military Honors were provided by the Starbuck VFW. Michael John Rutledge, son of Matt and Elsie (Newlin) Rutledge, was born Nov. 23, 1938 in Benson, where he grew up and began his education in a country school south of town. Mike later graduated from Benson High School in 1956. After high school, Mike enlisted in the U.S. Air Force.

A Private family burial will be held at a later date at Lakeside Cemetery in Hancock. Funeral services for Donald Staples of Starbuck were held Thursday, July 9, 2009 at Fron Lutheran Church in Starbuck. Reverend Arvin Halvorson and Reverend Don Oldenburg officiated. Donald George Staples, son of Walter and Nettie (Kobbervig) Staples, was born June 26, 1925 in Synnes Township in Stevens County. Don grew up in the Alberta area and graduated from Alberta High School in 1942. Following his schooling, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corp. He received an honorable discharge in 1944. Following his discharge, he returned home and began farming on the family farm.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church on Wednesday. Myron James Riley, son of Edward and Harriett (Becker) Riley, was born Aug. 9, 1943 in Morris. Myron grew up in Donnelly and Morris and attended and graduated from Morris High School in 1961. On Nov. 20, 1965, he was united in marriage to Janet Chavis. To this union two children were born, Eric and Dyane.
